| DFI LANPARTY UT X48-T3RS Review reported at 04:29 PM |
| category: Socket 775 Motherboards website: Overclock3D.Net |
 | Article Quote: While on the one hand, the DFI is clearly a very accomplished board with a very thorough and complex BIOS resulting in some fantastic performance, on the other hand, there are now boards out there that can achieve similar performance without all the stress, grief and mountains of patience required. While on the A64 platform the DFI was king of the overclockers, the Intel market has seen Asus, Abit and Gigabyte make leaps and bounds in the enthusiast market, so now the lead DFI had is all but gone. | | |
| XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ Review reported at 04:19 PM |
| category: Game Accelerator Cards website: Tweak Town |
 | Article Quote: With the memory and shader still running at stock speeds, we could see that the older 9800 GTX in a highly overclocked form could continue to beat the overclocked core of the 9800 GTX+ on offer from XFX.
For the most part you would probably be better off buying a second hand overclocked 9800 GTX off someone who has upgraded to a GTX 260 or GTX 280 and in the process saving some dollars. | | |
| Cooler Master GeminII S Review reported at 03:57 PM |
| category: CPU Coolers website: Inside Hardware |
 | Article Quote: Cooler Master Geminii S, just like its older brother, isn’t best choice for cooling of QuadCore CPUs. On the other hand if you need cooler for overclocked DualCore CPU it is very good solution. If you are one of those that has credo that “every degree counts” than you should choose older model (GeminII). | | more info: ·more p/reviews Lowest prices check |
| Cooler Master GeminII S Review reported at 03:40 PM |
| category: CPU Coolers website: Frosty Tech |
 | Article Quote: Overall the Coolermaster GeminII S is a very good heatsink for both Intel and AMD platforms when running at full fan speed, particularly if we consider its compact height. There are of course a couple dozen other heatsinks to pick from if you demand lower temperatures, or a little less noise. Most of those options are "tower heatsinks" in the +145mm high range however. When running in its quietest fan mode the GeminII S heatsink offers us average performance. Bottom line, the Coolermaster GeminII S is a good thermal option hampered by cumbersome mounting system. | | more info: ·more p/reviews Lowest prices check |
| CSX Diablo PC3-16000 Kit Review reported at 01:15 PM |
| category: DDR3 Memory website: XSreviews.co.uk |
 | Article Quote: Not only have they managed to produce a kit that's good to look at and performs well, but it reached it's rated speed of a whopping 2GHZ, with no problem at all. However, with a price still well above that of a 4GB performance DDR2 kit, it's still not worth upgrading your rig to a DDR3 setup, just for the memory, but with prices continuing to fall and the excellent overclocking ability of some of the new Intel CPUs on x48 and 790i motherboards, it might be worth a look in. | | more info: ·more p/reviews Lowest prices check |
| Gigabyte GeForce GTX 260 Review reported at 01:12 PM |
| category: Game Accelerator Cards website: Legion Hardware |
 | Article Quote: As it stands Gigabyte offer just one GeForce GTX 260 based graphics card and this is it. There are no overclocked versions or special edition cards with improved cooling solutions. Given that the GeForce GTX 260 has been available for a little over 2 months now, it does not look as though Gigabyte will release another improved version, which is a shame given how competitive the GeForce GTX 260 has become. Overall, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 260 is a nice product with excellent availability. | | more info: ·more p/reviews Lowest prices check |
| Zotac GeForce GTX 260 & 280 AMP! Review reported at 01:10 PM |
| category: Game Accelerator Cards website: Digit-Life |
 | Article Quote: Zotac GeForce GTX 260 AMP! 896MB is a very interesting product. It fits between 9800 GTX and GTX 280, getting closer to the latter. Besides, overclocking yields good results.
Zotac GeForce GTX 280 AMP! 1024MB is almost the most powerful graphics card to date (which yields to BFG GeForce GTX 280 OCX 1024MB though). | | more info: ·more p/reviews |
| ECS GF8200A Review reported at 01:09 PM |
| category: Socket AM2 website: Digit-Life |
 | Article Quote: On the whole, this motherboard will do for a widely expandable computer, for which ATX form-factor allows. The exception is the declocked integrated graphics core not suitable for games or video applications. This motherboard caters only for the thrifty user's "serious" needs.
At the same time, this motherboard does not offer enough features to become a Black Series model. In particular, it must be much cheaper than ECS A780GM-A to become a justified choice. And this condition is a hard one, considering that it's quite cheap already. | | more info: ·more p/reviews Lowest prices check |
| AMD Phenom X4 9750 Review reported at 01:00 PM |
| category: Socket AM2 CPUs website: HardwareCanucks |
 | Article Quote: All in all, it seems like AMD does have a fighting chance in the quad core arena but they will have to move fast to make up for lost ground. The Phenom X4 9750 seems to be a good second step after the lackluster B2 chips but it is far from a solid performer and is still seriously lacking in several other key areas. Rumors speak of new, cooler running Phenom’s coming out soon so maybe, just maybe we are unto something and we can look forward to a real two horse race again in 2009. But until then, the fact is that AMD seems to be two steps or more behind Intel while not offering anything new in the way of value. | | more info: ·more p/reviews Lowest prices check |
